Growing up in Connecticut, visiting the beach was a frequent and familiar summer past-time. It's the reason that I love The Little Mermaid but hate jellyfish. When we planned a visit back earlier this month, I knew I wanted to a) visit the beach and b) photograph some portraits at said beach! My sister, Heidi, spent the days leading up to our arrival searching through local thrift stores to find her perfect outfit. She loves Marilyn Monroe, which is probably clear when you see what she chose.

This area of beach houses in Milford, Connecticut is one of those little enchanting parts of home and I'm so glad we photographed here! The light at dusk was perfect. The tattered, old, nautical houses were perfect. My sister didn't even complain too much when I wanted her to walk across the sandbars covered with snails (so many snails).

I can't believe summer is coming to a close, but this shoot was definitely the perfect way to end it!
