I jumped into the wedding photography business the same summer I was married. It was a big leap but I loved being around brides all the time! Their experiences were so relatable because I was in the same boat - choosing dresses, colors, first dance songs and all that! This was back in 2012 so it was all about "Marry You" by Bruno Mars, seafoam green and coral, and lace covered mermaid dresses. For the record, my wedding didn't incorporate any of those specific things but I can tell you I saw them ALL OVER as I started my wedding photography business!

My own marriage progressed, as all marriages do, as I continued to work with young, sweet, newlyweds. I loved it! But.. differently. I started to feel like, "Hey - it's awesome that we take so many pictures when we are getting married... but what about after that?!?" because in all honestly - being married is more work than getting married and I think that's worth celebrating. With pictures. You see where this is going, right?!

Last month I launched my passion project called The Anniversary Photographer and I've been focusing my time and energy over there lately. In a nutshell... I believe sweethearts deserve pictures beyond JUST the wedding day! My goal is to encourage couples to take pictures together again on their anniversaries. I focus on making the anniversary picture experience FUN and memorable and sentimental and like a total romantic date experience.
